Another Successful Spring Hope Food Drive is in the Books!
With Spring now firmly upon us, there are certain touchstones we come to embrace – the return of birds, buds on trees and Skyliners digging deep to help the communities in which we live and play.
The annual Spring Hope Food Drive, a Skyline Living tradition, has wrapped for another year and once again, tenants and staff from across the organization dug deep to help those experiencing food insecurity in their communities.
Together, with our staff and tenants, we raised a grand total of 41,560 lbs of food, essential items, and monetary donations.
-
Food and essential items were dropped off to food banks in our communities
-
Monetary donations were made to Food Banks Canada’s After the Bell program.
But there’s more: Skyline is matching this total with an additional $41,560 monetary donation to Food Banks Canada, for a grand total of 83,120 lbs. in donations! (using the calculation of $1 = 1 lb.)
Spring Hope Food Drive“This is a wonderful tradition at Skyline Living, reaching out to the communities where we do business, where many of our employees live, to help those who have fallen on hard times and need a hand,” said BJ Santavy, Vice President of Skyline Living. “The way our employees and tenants embrace this program really helps support of PRIDE values. I am so proud that we were able to help those who need it most.”
Each year the Spring Hope Food Drive inspires a friendly competition amongst Skyline Living buildings across Canada. John Counter Place in Kingston, Ontario raised 3,050 lbs. of food and goods to help their local community. Georgian Manor in Owen Sound, Ontario donated 22.57 lbs per door!
