R.I.S.E & Refugee Assistance Program Updates

We’re proud to support individuals struggling due to unforeseen circumstances. Our RISE program assists tenants experiencing financial hardships placing their tenancy in jeopardy, while our Refugee Assistance Program assists refugees with resettlement efforts and a simplified rental process to ensure they can find proper housing quickly. For us, it’s all about helping people and extending a hand to those who need it most.

Between January 1 and June 1, 2023, the RISE program provided $9,000 of total relief to 49 tenants across the country. That number not only includes rent relief but also grocery gift cards to assist with purchasing food items and daily necessities. This is a true testament to our company’s longstanding commitment to giving back and to treating our valued tenants like family.

Over the lifetime of the program, 503 refugee families have been accepted into the program and 3 refugees have been employed by the company. There have also been 11 commitments from community-based businesses to help with goods and services for refugees and over $1,099,000 worth of rental relief provided. This could include rental forgiveness, gift cards, and other goods and services provided by Skyline Living and vendors. Welcoming those displaced by conflict and persecution and helping in their integration into Canadian society is an honour and privilege that we take seriously.
