Skyline Living Takes Home Two CFAA Awards for 2021
[Guelph, ON – May 6, 2021]
Skyline Living won in two esteemed categories of the sixth annual Canadian Federation of Apartment Associations (CFAA) Rental Housing Awards.
- Off-Site Employee of the Year - Kevin McIntosh
- Property Manager of the Year - Karolina Bagienski
The competition is fierce every year, with rental housing companies across Canada competing for top recognition.
“We take industry awards very seriously and we also take great pride in the exceptional efforts of our staff,” said BJ Santavy, Vice President, Skyline Living.
“One of the ways we celebrate our Skyliners is by nominating them for these prestigious awards. This year was especially difficult to choose the nominees, as we had such an amazing group of worthy staff, programs, and developments to choose from.”
The Off-Site Employee of the Year Award recognizes an individual employee nominated by their employer who has demonstrated excellence and professionalism in the rental housing industry. This past year held many challenges for all workplaces including Skyline Living, and Kevin rose to every challenge, going above and beyond his duties to produce exceptional work.
“I was proud to nominate Kevin for this award; where Kevin really shines is his willingness to step in and use his talents to assist his colleagues with their departmental projects,” said Santavy.
“He looks for opportunities to help with improvements and efficiencies and his support is always welcomed and appreciated.”
The Property Manager of the Year Award recognizes a staff member who solved a long-standing problem seen to be intractable or handled one or more difficult issues with great skill and tact. Karolina helped Skyline Living become established in the Winnipeg, MB market while facing challenges such as staffing shortages, an uptick in crime, and the constraints of COVID-19.
“Winning this award is a gold star on what has been a truly incredible year for Karolina,” said Santavy.
“She has worked through some truly challenging circumstances and Karolina’s peers and supervisors are keenly aware of Karolina’s passion and work ethic. They celebrate her accomplishments and appreciate her challenges while onboarding new acquisitions and hiring employees in a region so distant from our main headquarters.
Skyline Living was a finalist in an additional two categories:
- Marketing Program Excellence of the Year - Carrington View’s Lease-Up Program
- Rental Housing Provider of the Year - Skyline Living's R.I.S.E. Tenant Assistance Program
The winners were announced May 4-6, 2021 at CFAA’s annual Awards Presentations, which were held virtually for 2021.
The CFAA National Awards program recognizes excellence and notable achievements of Rental Housing Providers, Rental Housing Suppliers, and Apartment Associations. Each company submits their nominations for specific categories and those nominations are assessed by panels of their industry peers who first narrow down the submissions to a finalist stage.
Please join us in congratulating both Skyline Living’s winners, finalists, and nominees for their outstanding achievements!
