Leamington
The municipality of Leamington is home to Point Pelee, the southernmost point of mainland Canada, and approximately 30,000 residents. Leamington, located on the north shore of Lake Erie, enjoys Ontario’s warmest climate. The town is about 45 minutes from Windsor via HWY-3, and less than an hour from Chatham via HWY-401.
Leamington is known as the “Tomato Capital of Canada” because of its longer growing season, rich soil, Tomato Festival, and large crops dedicated to tomatoes. Point Pelee National Park is a favourite tourist attraction, particularly for birdwatchers.
Leamington is a small community, but still offers the conveniences of a large city including many parks, schools for all ages, shopping, restaurants, and other amenities.
